TERMIS-EU Conference 2026
Image: Mandana AzariIn April 2026, I attended the TERMIS-EU conference in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. This prestigious event brought together leading researchers from the fields of tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, biomaterials, and related disciplines. I presented the results of our research project in the form of a poster entitled ''Effect of concentration-dependent human serum albumin coating on cellular response and bacterial inhibition in vitro''. We investigated the potential of concentration dependent human serum albumin on the Ti-6Al-4V alloy to identify an optimal balance between cellular compatibility and bacterial inhibition. The poster sessions gave me the opportunity to engage in detailed scientific discussions with other participants.
The conference provided an excellent networking platform, enabling me to connect with early-career researchers and senior scientists from various scientific disciplines, including biomaterials, bioprinting and bio fabrication, inflammation and immunology. These interactions enabled the exchange of ideas, experiences and perspectives, and helped me to build new scientific and professional connections.
I also participated in the Women in TERM Luncheon, where women working in both academia and industry shared their personal career journeys. They discussed the decisions, challenges, and turning points they had encountered throughout their professional lives and how these experiences had shaped their career paths. Hearing these different stories offered valuable insights into career development and the various opportunities available in academia and beyond.
