The presentation explored how alkaline nanostructuring, bioactive glass nanoparticle loading, and micro-oscillation can be combined to reduce bacterial adhesion on implant surfaces. In-depth material characterisation provided insights into the resulting surface properties, while biological experiments examined the individual and combined effects of these three omplementary approaches.
The congress provided an opportunity to discuss these approaches within the broader field of biomaterials and surface engineering.
