3rd Symposium of the RTG 2723
Materials - Microbes - Microenvironments (M-M-M)

29-30 October 2025
HS E021, Zentrum für Angewandte Forschung (ZAF)
Philosophenweg 7, 07743 Jena

For the third M-M-M Symposium of RTG 2723, we were delighted to welcome three outstanding speakers:

  • Prof. Dr. Izabela Radecka, University of Wolverhampton, UK: "Bacterial engineers - using microbes to engineer valuable polymers from waste"
  • Prof. Dr. Ulrike Endesfelder, University of Bonn: "Single molecule microscopy as a quantitative tool for biochemical and cell biological in vivo studies in microbiology"
  • Prof. Dr. Bora Garipcan, Boğaziçi University Instanbul, Turkiye: "Biomimetic and bioinspired antimicrobial surfaces for biomaterials/implants"

In addition to the inspiring talks by our invited experts, the RTG doctoral researchers presented their own work through engaging talks and poster sessions. The program was further enriched by the workshop "Nanomaterials & Nanomedicine" leaded by Prof. Dr. Avi Domb and Prof. Dr. Philipp Seib specifically designed for RTG doctoral researchers and postdocs.

The symposium provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange and networking – we thank all participants for making this event such a success!
