Participation in the ELMI Meeting in Liverpool, UK
ELMI 2024
Image: Julius TrautmannThe European Light Microscopy Initiative (ELMI) meeting is one of the most important conferences for the microscopy community in Europe, bringing together scientists, core facilities, and microscope developers to discuss the latest advances in optical imaging. The 2024 meeting in Liverpool placed a strong emphasis on super-resolution microscopy, quantitative imaging, and emerging microscopy instrumentation.
During the conference, I presented my work on adaptive optics and super-resolution microscopy in a talk titled “Exploring Adaptive Optics for Controlled Aberration in STED and (STED-)FCS Microscopy.” The presentation demonstrated how optical aberrations influence nanoscale imaging and how adaptive correction can improve quantitative measurements such as STED-FCS. The meeting provided many opportunities to exchange ideas with both researchers and instrument developers, particularly on new approaches for aberration correction and imaging in complex biological samples.
